Automated Linux Installation at DESY Without bootp |
If the bootp service does not respond for whatever
reason, you can enter the required paramaters manually and proceed:

| Red window: "bootp configuration failed" | Confirm with "Return" |
| Main Menu | Choose "Start Installation/System" |
| Installation Menu | Choose "Start Installation" |
| Device Menu | Choose "Network (NFS)" |
| Mask "Use bootp?" | Answer "No" |
| Mask "IP Address" | Enter your PC's IP address: 131.169.xxx.yyy |
| Mask "Netmask" | Set to 255.255.255.0 |
| Mask "Gateway" |
Number 16 on your subnet: 131.169.xxx.16 (use 14 inside the computer center on gigarouter networks) |
| Mask "Nameserver" | 131.169.40.200 |
| Mask "NFS Server" | 131.169.40.66 |
| Mask "Installation Directory" | /distro/suse-7.2 |
After that, installation should proceed normally.
