	DESY Linux 5 Reference Host

Since October 2003, we are providing a reference host for DESY Linux 5 for development and test purposes. It is currently available to every AFS user at DESY for system validation.

Acceptable Use of dl5ref.desy.de

We are trying to handle access to dl5ref as liberal as possible. We are using it ourselves for software development and packaging and we invite you to do so. Please avoid running heavy computation, application stress testing or anything that binds sufficient resources to make the system useless for others. If you need to run such tests, we ask you to either install your own system using our automated installation or contact us to find a suitable time slot for your tests.

Please be aware that during system development, dl5ref may be rebooted, patched or reinstalled at any time without further announcement, though we will try to do this outside the 09:00 to 17:00 time window.
